Giving Ireland 2022 Sport Subsector

Giving Ireland 2022 report tells us that fundraised income decreased by 17% overall in 2020, with the Sports subsector experiencing the second largest decrease in total income, by 11%.

The sector’s total income during 2020 was €20.92 billion. Overall, total income decreased by 5%, reflecting the negative impact of Covid-19 on the sector. Around 30% of nonprofit organisations experienced financial losses during the year.

Giving Ireland 2022 provides a unique viewpoint of the Irish nonprofit sector, identifying the challenges that nonprofits faced at the peak of COVID-19.
